		<description>Personally, I think @replying to people is a far better indication of wanting to engage than following is. Following, when not used for DMing or private timeline purposes, is just to help you keep track of a list of things to read every day - and I have enough to keep up with on the internet without trying to dig through the tweets of my best friend&#039;s cousin&#039;s drunken frat party and ad tweets on how to order a dating service and tweets from everyone the freaking out about snow in #yyj and dammit Indigineity you have awesome stuff but you post like twenty tweets in under half an hour.nnTwitter isn&#039;t &lt;i&gt;built&lt;/i&gt; for playing constant catchup, it&#039;s built for finding out what&#039;s going in the present moment, so rather than follow everyone I think is cool, I only follow the people whose content I almost always enjoy and who tweet at a moderate enough rate for me to keep my sanity. I have nothing against people who tweet like there&#039;s no tomorrow, but I just don&#039;t have the stamina to keep up with them.nnBut I&#039;ll keep an eye on their stuff. I&#039;ll pop my head in every once in a while, maybe even browse back a couple of days if I have the time, maybe shoot out some RTs or @s. I don&#039;t hate them just because I won&#039;t follow them, and if they send an @ my way, I do my best to sit right up and pay attention no matter who they are. If someone I&#039;ve never even heard of follows me, I barely even notice; but if a stranger takes the time to write an @ to me, however quick? I&#039;m compelled to find out why.</description>
