Captcha’s were created to stop automated sign-ups, but when actual humans can’t decipher them, we have a problem

OKay how about some weird program for Twitter to keep spammers away. Um this woman has 70 followers yet feels the need to have ME validate with a service that I’m not a spammer. Too time consuming, you don’t have good enough content for me to pursue it further. One lost follower out of many, I am sure. I get an email each time someone signs up on Twitter. Maybe I don’t understand Twitter enough but I don’t see too many issues with most people following me. I’ve had one of questionable content and since I am a Christian author, that is not something I care to see or associate with. If I were big and famous, I might need it.

I HATE captchas. They deter people from posting.

I loved this post and have tried to hit the “like” button. But irony of ironies, it won’t let me. Your post about not driving away your readers drove me to this one and both hi-light the importance of not making a reader jump through hoops to communicate with you. But I can’t hit the like button here without signing up for Facebook or Twitter.

I’m going to try hitting the “Post as …” button but suspect this will never reach you. I may have to sign up for something else just to comment.

PLUS 1…. Holy mother of the universe, please bestow apon me the ability to deciper the cosmos, cause it has to be easier than CRAPTCHA…

I have come to the point, where if i want to sign up, and it has a “Captcha” verification, I find what I was signing up for… elsewhere.

I dont even bother anymore.

Why not make a legible captcha that’s legible, but say, “Only use the second word”, that’ll screw the bots, but not the people…

And if the bots catch on to it, switch it to use the first word, people only register once, unless they are a bot.
